Business License Application
A Business License is required for any business collecting revenue to operate within the City of Mills. If your main location is not in Mills, but you come to Mills to sell, or to perform a service, a Business License is required. In order to obtain a Business License in the Town of Mills you must:
- Complete a Business License application or Contractors Business License application and pay the appropriate fee.
- Provide proof of your liability insurance for the business.
- Schedule a fire inspection with the Mills Fire Department at 307-439-1246. This is only required if your physical business is located in Mills and other exclusions may apply. The Mills Fire Department will send us a copy of your approved fire inspection.
- General Contractors, Electrical Contractors, and Plumbers must include a copy of your State License.
Please return your payment, the completed application, and a copy of your liability insurance to the Mills City Hall to process your application. The proof of liability insurance may be faxed to 307-234-6528. Incomplete applications will not be processed. If you fail to do the above-listed steps you will be in violation of Ordinance 05.04.050 and may be subject to a separate fine for every five days your business is in operation without a license.
All completed applications, once the fee is paid and we have received your approved fire inspection and liability insurance, will be sent before the Council for approval. You are welcome to attend the Council Meeting, but not required. The City Council meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the City of Mills City Hall. If you would like to attend the meeting for your Business License approval we can notify you of when your application is scheduled.
You may call the City Hall at 307-234-6679 if you have any questions.
